Stockwell Bretton’s work, alongside partners CAE Australia and the Training Aircraft Systems Program Office (DMO), in delivering the state-of-the-art KA350 Simulator facilities earned the Essington Lewis Trophy (SME Category) at the recent ADM Defence and Industry Team Awards.

The awards, announced recently in Canberra, are designed to recognise acquisition and sustainment teams from across the DMO and industry.

SBG, CAE Australia and the Training Aircraft Systems Program Office have worked together to introduce an innovative contracting solution to support the Defence training requirement.

Under the contractor-owned contractor-operated (CoCo) model, Defence is able to pay a monthly service fee for training at the state of the art KA350 simulator facility. The timeliness and budgetary savings of the approach are noteworthy as is the work done by both parties in addressing the requirement.”

In accepting the award, Mr Wagstaff (Director, Project Management Unit) thanked the Stockwell Bretton team for our ongoing commitment to enhancing Defence capability and recognised our contribution as essential to the highly successful outcomes delivered by the project.

Managing Partner, Michael Bretton said it was very satisfying to be part of a team that committed to creating and delivering an innovative solution that will provide Defence with significant long-term value.

“This project is a landmark for the Defence sector and has demonstrated the results that can be achieved by embracing innovation and challenging ourselves as teams.

The project delivered a critical capability to Defence within unprecedented schedule constraints and surpassed the expectations of the stakeholders”, Mr Bretton said.
